I was an English and History teacher for thirty years in grades 7-12, serving as Department Chair in Tacoma Washington until 1981. Previous to my seven years in Tacoma, I taught English and History in Sydney, Australia for three years. After moving to Anchorage, I taught at Dimond High School for twenty years; World History, Government, Economics, Debate, and Drama. I was fortunate to be chosen for a Fulbright Teacher Exchange to Hungary in 1997, and spent a year there teaching in a bilingual high school. Since I retired from ASD, I have been teaching at UAA and APU in the Communication and Education departments. It would be exciting to be able to teach Government and Economics again, and I am looking forward to the opportunity! In my spare time, I love to play and teach piano, sew, and knit as well as spend as much time as possible outdoors enjoying Alaska. I also love to travel and have been to all continents, including Antarctica!
