I am a lifelong Alaskan, born in Juneau and raised in Anchorage. My husband John and I bought a piece of land and built our home in Chugiak 20 years ago. We have 3 children, Andrew, William, Emily, and a dog named Pepper.
I had my first violin lesson at age 3 and started playing regularly at age 9 when I joined my school orchestra. I started teaching for the Anchorage School District in 2002 and retired from teaching public school in 2024. I have a State of Alaska Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Elementary Education and Music.
During the summer of 2023, I revitalized the Chugiak Elementary school garden for a community service project to become a certified Alaska Master Gardener. I love working with plants and watching children learn by playing in the dirt!
If I’m not outside working in the garden, I am probably out kayaking at my family’s cabin in Seward.
